The University of South-East Asia was established on July 7, 2006 by four dedicated Cambodian shareholders in response to the government educational development program of building and enhancing human resources through higher education. USEA was recognized by the Royal Government of Cambodia and operating through Sub-decree No. 63 duly signed by his Excellency former Prime Minister Hun Sen. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) recognized USEA by issuing Prakas No. 802 dated 09 July 2007.  USEA gained its double accreditation in 2006-2009 and 2010-13 granted by the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC). USEA had its first enrollment of 600 bachelor students and at present with a total enrollment of 2,980.  The enrollment in the undergraduate program is 2,780 and 200 in the MBA program. The top three faculties are: Faculty of Business and Tourism, Faculty of Art, Humanities and Languages and Faculty of Science and Technology. The graduate rate of employment is 95%.

The International relations office (IRO) of the University of South-East Asia (USEA) aims to improve the quality of education at international standards through strengthening and expanding international cooperation with foreign educational institutions. The IRO of USEA has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual action plan to strengthen and expand international cooperation
  • Strengthen cooperation with existing partners through the exchange of experiences, exchange of students, exchange of academic staff, curriculum development, joint research, scholarships, study tours, internships and cross-border programs.
  • Expand international cooperation to exchange experiences, exchange students, exchange staff, develop curricula, joint research, provide scholarships, study tours, internships and cross-border programs.
  • Organize study tours abroad at partner universities and resorts for management, staff, academic staff and students.
  • Manage statistics and academic results of scholarship students at partner universities abroad.
  • Collaborate with foreign partner universities to organize global conferences and seminars at the University of South-East Asia or Overseas.
  • Contact the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in other countries related to the work of the University.
  • Contact international speakers for university presentations.
  • Disseminate international news or activities of University in English through the University's Website, Facebook and YouTube.
  • Hospitality Visit of Embassy Representatives to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
  • Prepare translators for university conferences, seminars and other international meetings
  • Facilitate and advise on the continuing education of staff, professors and students abroad.
  • Perform various tasks as required by the university.
