Cambodian Higher Education Advancing in Internationalisation (CHAIn) project is conducting its National Round Table 1 Meeting from August 19-20, 2024 at University of South-East Asia, Siem Reap, Cambodia. This event is presided by H.E. Dr. Som Ratana, Under-secretary of State of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and is attended by leaders, lecturers, officials, staff and students of Cambodian public and private universities, totaling 154 participants (34 guests, 33 consortium members and 90 students).  

These 2-day National Round Table 1 (NRT 1) has set 5 key objectives as follows:
1) Facilitate Collaboration - to Foster stronger connections between DGHE (MoEYS) and HEIs, mainly the HEIs’ IROs. 
2) Promote Dialogue - to cultivate a robust national discourse centered around HEI-IROs, encouraging meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing.
3) Information Exchange - to Facilitate both formal and informal exchanges of insights, ideas, and information related to IROs.
4) Network Building - to create networks among IRO personnel, enabling collaboration, best practices, and mutual support.
5) Data Collection - to Gather comprehensive data to inform the development of a future Management Guide for IROs and an Internationalisation Strategy.

This important meeting brings together key stakeholders from different educational institutions and policymakers to discuss and strategize the future of higher education in Cambodia, focusing on advancing internationalisation.
