During April 22-26, 2024, Saarland University welcomed the top management from six
Cambodian Higher Education Institutions and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for
the Kick-off meeting and first Study Visit.

The meeting allowed the participants to share experiences and good practices with
representatives of the European project partners - Saarland University and University of
Alicante. It also facilitated peer learning and created leadership at strategic level.
Representatives from the European Commission EACEA and the German Academic
Exchange Service DAAD presented the expectations of the Erasmus+ CBHE program.

The main objective of the CHAIn project is to introduce and develop internationalization
strategies in HEIs in Cambodia. It especially aims at:

  • Consolidating internationalization structures and building human capacities in
    Cambodian HEIs,
  • Accompanying the governance reforms of the Ministry of Education, Youth and
    Sports of Cambodia (MoEYS) and
  • Enhancing international networking through strategic actions in key areas of the Cambodian Higher Education System.

    This three-year project is a Strand 3 CBHE project, co-financed by Erasmus + KA2.
